What I Love About Scouting
I hope everyone had a great summer and the start of the school year is going well for your families.
Going forward, I plan to write a short monthly post, typically around what it means to be a scout. I hope you find these valuable and share them with your cub(s) as you talk about scouting.
I want to kick off our 2017-2018 scouting year and the first “Cubmaster Corner” with an introduction. We are beginning to transition a few of the leadership roles in Pack 1909, and this month I would like to introduce myself as the new cubmaster.
I was fortunate to be involved with scouting from 1st grade through high school, ultimately achieving my Eagle Scout rank at age 17. Scouting afforded me a lot of great growth opportunities and many valuable life lessons. I attribute my love for outdoors, respect for others, understanding of the benefits of a community and appreciation for struggles/hard work largely due to the exposure that scouting brought me. I look forward to sharing my passion for scouting with everyone and ensuring that our boys find similar value in their experiences.
Outside of scouting, my wife Lori and I are kept quite busy with Tyler (a Tiger) and his younger brother, Max (4yrs old). We love the Savage/Prior Lake community and spending as much time outdoors with friends.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the first pack meeting!
